How to get rid of weeds between block paving

How to get rid of weeds between block paving

This is probably the most asked question i get asked how do get rid of weeds between block paving and in this blog i will try to answer this question as it is not a simple fix.

At pressure fresh we cannot hold mother nature and the weeds growing through block paved driveways and patios, but we can clean the block paving and be it a driveway or a patio to a very high standard.

Weed removal between block paving.

As you can see from the image above this massive driveway clean in the New Forest Hampshire that was in a really poor condition and was over run with grass and weeds growing between the block paving driveway.

The first step in this particular clean would have been to spray a weed killer down of which we would of left for a couple of weeks to let it get into the roots and kill of the grass and weeds, but in this case the client did not want any weed killer put down as this was a stables and there was horses grazing so we got up as much as we could and used a combination of high pressure jet washing and a chemical clean using sodium hypochlorite and amine which was thoroughly washed away and the block paved driveway was left chemically clean and left safe for the Horses, we also used high pressure super heated water steam with temperatures of 150 degrees to remove any black spots that are commonly found on driveways and patios.

As the picture above shows the team at Pressure Fresh removed all the grass and weeds from the block paved driveway and down streamed a mixture of sodium hypoclorite and amine which was left to dwell on the surface to work in the process of cleaning the block paving and bringing it back to its natural colour.

Cleaned

As you can clearly see in the image above the team at Pressure Fresh done a great job of high pressure jetting the weeds from the block paving and chemically treating the blocks to bring out the colour of the blocks.

All what was left, was to let it thoroughly dry out before we re-sanded the entire surface. this block paved driveway was completed in 4 days all in all by the pressure fresh team and we now annually maintain this block paved drive way and paddocks.

if you have any question we would be willing to advise so please feel free to give us a call and a member of the Pressure Fresh team will answer any questions you have and we do offer a free test patch.
